The LEARN consortium is designed to be a broad-based group of organisations with excellent existing expertise and highly committed to LEARN objectives. The LEARN consortium is led by Smart Freight Centre which plays a central role in linking policy, leadership and practical application by industry. The remaining consortium partners bring together a range of perspectives and experiences that complement each other.

  • CLECAT

    CLECAT represents the interests of more than 19.000 companies employing in excess of 1.000.000 staff in logistics, freight forwarding and customs services. Multinational, medium and small freight forwarders and Customs agents are all within its membership, making the organisation the most representative of its kind.

  • Connekt

    Connekt is a network organization with public and private members working together on sustainable, smart and social mobility and transport. Within the Lean & Green Europe community, 450 shippers, logistics service providers, carriers, retailers and ports are collaborating to reduce emissions and make their logistics more efficient.

  • DLR

    DLR German Aerospace Center integrates Germany’s national aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security research. Based on a systemic approach, the Institute of Transport Research analyses the demand of transport and the interactions between transport, economy, society and the environment.

  • Energy Saving Trust

    Energy Saving Trust is a leading and trusted organisation helping people save energy every day. Our experts speak with millions of householders every year, deliver first class programmes for governments and provide consultancy to UK businesses and international companies.

  • ESC

    The European Shippers’ Council (ESC) represents the logistic interests of manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers, collectively referred to as shippers who want to safeguard the delivery of their products to their customers. Members are drawn from national shippers’ associations, European commodity trade associations and businesses.

  • Fraunhofer IML

    The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML is a non-profit organization for comprehensive logistics research. Fraunhofer IML is engaged in the development and implementation of material flow and logistics systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs as well as environmental and social impacts.

  • IRU Projects

    IRU Projects is a Belgian non-profit entity established to support the road transport industry to reach the goals of sustainable road transport, increased road safety and security. IRU Projects works closely with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and its 170 members in 75 countries globally

  • IVL

    IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute is an independent, non-profit environmental research institute, established in 1966, owned jointly by the Swedish government and the business community through a foundation. IVL is Sweden's leading organisation for applied research in the fields of climate, energy, environment, and sustainable growth.

  • NTM

    The Network for Transport Measures, NTM is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 aiming to enable more sustainable transport solutions through; supporting measuring performance, providing benchmarking measures and evaluating improvement measures i.e. continuous improvements for shippers and transport service providers.

  • SFC

    Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a global NGO leading the way to a more efficient and environmentally sustainable global freight sector. SFC works with businesses and other stakeholders to remove market barriers catalyzing the sector-wide action to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and lower operating costs. SFC leads the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC).

    TNO Sustainable Transport and Logistics (TNO STL) connects people and knowledge to create innovations that boost the sustainable competitive strength of industry and well-being of society. TNO supports clean and sustainable mobility through measuring, analysis and modelling of vehicle and transport emissions.

  • UNTRR

    The National Union of Road Hauliers from Romania (UNTRR) is an employers’ professional organization established in 1990, which promotes the interests of road transport industry, having more than 14.000 registered members – companies performing national and international road transport of goods and passengers.

  • Zaragoza Logistics Center

    Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) is an international center of excellence for research and education in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, established by the Government of Aragon in Spain, in partnership with the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL-MIT) and the University of Zaragoza.
